Norma Jean Moore

I have been looking at the bluebonnet floret under the jeweler's loupe. The parts of a floret are five petals: a banner petal and banner spot, 2 wing petals, and the keel which is also made up of two petals that protect the pistil and stamen. Directly above the wing petals is the banner spot, a bright white sticky area where spots of mustard yellow pollen dot the surface.
